Submit Your Abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract and present your work at SEISMIX 2026. During submission, authors should specify one of the topics listed below and indicate their presentation preference (oral or poster), chosen topic, and presenting author in the body of the submission email.

Each presenting author may submit one abstract with a preference for oral presentation; however, there is no limit on poster submissions. Please name your abstract file using the following format:

[SEISMIX2026][SurnameFirstInitial]_[Topic]_[Oral/Poster].docx

Example:

SEISMIX2026_VanDerMerweK_DAS_Poster.docx

All abstracts must be submitted by 1 June 2026. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance and presentation type by 15 June 2026.

Abstract Template

Authors are requested to submit an abstract to be peer reviewed.  In order to allow for a fair peer review process, authors are requested to submit by 1 June 2026 at the latest.  If papers are submitted after the deadline, they might be considered for poster only at the discretion of the Organising Committee whose decision is final.  Authors will be notified by 15 June 2026 whether their submission has been accepted.

Abstracts are to be submitted as a one-page Microsoft Word document using the SEISMIX 2026 specified format only.

The abstract template is available for download here, to assist you in this task. All authors are requested to use this template and adhere to the guidelines – failure to do so will result in request for resubmission.

  • Abstracts must be a maximum of one page.
  • Abstracts must be submitted as a .doc or .docx file only. Documents will be converted to pdf once submitted.

Presentation Guidelines

There are two types of presentations:

  1. Oral presentations
  2. Poster presentations

Please specify your preferred channel on submission.

Oral presentation

  • Please use this template when preparing and delivering your oral presentation. Click Here
  • Speakers will have a 20 min presentation slot with 5 minutes for questions and change of speaker.
  • Your presentation needs to be in .ppt using the 16:9 ratio (landscape).
  • Presentations (.ppt) need to be uploaded the day prior to presentation slot, or if presenting on the first day of the conference, please email them to kathy@seismix2026.co.za by Saturday 3 October 2026 to ensure everything runs smoothly on our first day.

Poster presentation

 

  • Please use this PowerPoint (click here) or PDF (click here) template when preparing your poster.

  • 5 min are allocated to poster presentations.
  • Your poster must be in A0 size in portrait orientation.
  • All posters must be submitted at the latest on Sunday 4 October 2026 to the Registration Desk.
